Durot’s Tongue in Achrafieh

Quite often clients ask for my advice on selecting and sourcing classic pieces of furniture. Over the course of my travels I have built up a network of contacts with furniture dealers from the backstreets of Rio de Janeiro’s trendy Lappa district, to the upmarket antique auctions of Paris and London. Nothing beats the thrill of finding exactly the piece I need for my clients, in mint condition, and for a fair price. And now you don’t have even have to leave Achrafieh to find some delightful vintage Louis Durot at the newly opened twentytwentyone gallery in Ghandour Al Saad Street. I love Durot’s La Spirale chair, and his comical Tongue table. There are plenty of other pieces from names like de Rossi, Ponti, Mendini and Colombo. If you go, makes sure you say hello to my friend Marie-Joe Taleb, who manages the gallery. Tel: +961 1 216 854
